just me asked:

I was in a car accident 3/12 and wasn’t seriously injured, but they did take me from the scene on a backboard, when they pushed on my hips, there was a snap in my back, I’ve had really bad back pain since the accident, moreso when I move around or pick stuff up. I was given some vicodin for the pain, but now my dr wants me to physical therapy for it. Will this help with the pain? Or maybe doing yoga? There were no xrays ever taken.

One Response to “back pain after accident?”

  1. margravine_l says:

It’s not uncommon for Physiotherapy to be prescribed/given for back pain. When you go for your treatment, the therapist will conduct a full physical examination and determine whether any scans etc are needed. They will then provide you with advice and exercises which will hopefully help to decrease the pain in your back. There are also a number of manual techniques which they may use but that will depend on what they find on examination.

This is what would happen in the UK so it may be slightly different in the US but it shouldn’t be too different. Hope this helps a little.
