I was in a car accident 3/12 and wasn’t seriously injured, but they did take me from the scene on a backboard, when they pushed on my hips, there was a snap in my back, I’ve had really bad back pain since the accident, moreso when I move around or pick stuff up. I was given some vicodin for the pain, but now my dr wants me to physical therapy for it. Will this help with the pain? Or maybe doing yoga? There were no xrays ever taken.

I’ve been taking anti-depressants for almost two months, and while I think they’re helping a little, they’re way too expensive ($100/month!). I’ve tried St. John’s Wort and that didn’t seem to help. What are some other, inexpensive ways to fight depression and anxiety? (If meditation or yoga, anything specific?)

With the growing interest in healthy lifestyles, more Americans are looking for ways to achieve balance—and stay fit. Practicing yoga is an excellent way to do both of those things, but with so many disciplines to choose from it’s important to pick the one that’s right for you. Tell us how you discovered your perfect yoga style, and why you chose it.

Hey everyone,
I’ve been suffering and diagnosed with severe general anxiety disorder and also severe panick attack disorder(i have at least 1 to 5 a day,7 days a week for the past years and a half)and in between attacks my anxiety level is always over the top. I have medication and started a new one that I just started. I also started a behavioral psychotherapy and soon starting to go to a support group in my area.I am not depressed just da… frustrated that I’m doing all I can and it doesnt go away.I know medication can work but I also hope that eventually I will not need them anymore.I have read alot on the subject, know that its these attacks arent dangerous, I know all the methods to control them but the thing is IT DOESNT WORK!Now, my question is, does anyone have any tips on how to learn to relax, reduce anxiety and lower stress?(meditation, yoga, exercices etc). I’m a fighter and will fight to the end but any tip or positive experience of people overcoming it would be great!Thx!

When I was in high school (10 years ago) I had anxiety so bad I had to go on Buspar and Serzone- I came off it after 1 year and have been in and out of therapy ever since. Lately I have been getting wicked panic attacks: racing heart, higher blood pressure etc. I am going to see a therapist who specializes in Cognitive Behavior Therapy…just wondering if I may get relief from that kind of therapy. I am also hoping to get into yoga to help as well. Has anyone had any success with either of those things instead of medication?? I am REALLY hoping to do this without medication….do you think it may be possible???
I guess I just want some reassurance from other people who have anxiety

Thanks

I am looking for a bed that would be good for my back. I have been suffering with back pain from scoliosis for almost 5 years. I’m 20 years old, about to be 21 and feel like i’m 30-something because i tire quickly (the aches wear me out). In the meantime, I’ve tried different sources to help easing the pain (phys. therapy, orthos, crazy amount of doctors, eating better, massages, yoga, pills: vics/pot) but i still have this irritating, frustrating and annoying pain!

When i wake up i need to do yoga (works the best for awhile) but sometimes i dont have time and rush out the door and feel like i haven’t had any sleep at all! I also have insomnia; sometimes i only have 2-4 hours of sleep due these aches (i toss and turn alot!) and that’s why i’m starting to think that my bed may have alot to do with it? I have been told that maybe a therpeutic or firmer mattress may help? Anyone familiar with this type of issue? If so, please advice and if available feel free to give any suggestions.
Thanks in advance.

So my times are bad, and I want to take my training outside of the pool as well as inside.
So, what would you recommend for my diet?
And for exercise — cardio, weights, core work, yoga? Any suggestions?
